The Athlete of the month, for the month November is.... Mary Marshall!!
Wow what a month Mary had!
Having a love for trails, Mary decided to mix thigs up and tackle a road race. We thought it’ll be good to target these from time to time as it’s a good way to keep her leg speed up!
I can confirm her leg speed is right up! Finish 2nd in a Regents Park 10k in an impressive time of 40:35. Smashing her previous PB and finishing just behind out very own Alice Neil! BA power!
The very next weekend she tackled the Maverick Exposure Lights Trail Lights Dark. A night race where you start and finish in the dark! Seems like no one could see Mary! Not because it was dark, but because she was out in front and ended up WINNING the race!
A 2-week period of fine form and a patch she’ll remember forever!
An additional to this, with Mary’s love her trials she has decided to start a Best Athletics trail group. There’ll be regular trail runs coming up organised by her. She has planned some beautiful routes. If you’re keen to join along for them, message her and she’ll add you the trail WhatsApp group and share more info with you!
Mary, I am proud of what you achieved in November! Absolutely smashed it out the park! Can’t wait for what’s to come! Especially with the big plans you have next year!
